Online Craps Tips
Well, if you are done with the online slots, here are some more craps basics for you, and a little bit of strategy for one of the most involved, deep games the casino world has to offer.
I’ve covered the pass line before, but it holds a 1.41 percentage house advantage. It’s the perfect bet for craps beginners. Win or lose you can stick to the pass line bets, watch others and learn the game, then progress to more complicated bets.
A decent bet is the field bet. The house enjoys a 2.77 percent edge, almost twice that of the pass line. Simple rules, only good on the throw after the initial roll. A 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 wins even money. A 2 or 12 usually gets you triple your bet. A 5-8 means you lose.
The come bet is next, and is a good second step for the beginner. It’s very similar to the pass line bet, but can be made at any time during the game, even after the point has been set.
Place bets narrow down the field of where you’re directing your money. Your chosen number must hit before a 7 rolls again. Usually placed/allowed only after a point has been established, the payoffs range from 7:6 up to 9:5 in most casinos.
Even though there are more, I’ll finish now with the Hardways bets – something you may have heard in the movies. Well, 4 the hard way is a real thing, and it pays you more than 4 the soft way if it comes up. What is the hard way? Two 2’s, of course. All hard ways are numbers hit by throwing a pair. 4, 6, 8 and 10 are the choices here, and the payoff can range from 8:1 up to 10:1 in most casinos.
My advice to players who aren’t completely confident in their online casino gambling skills – or more importantly their ability to keep track of what’s going on at the table – is stick to the easy bets for a while, and don’t make craps your major casino game. Play poker, online blackjack or the desert buffet for most of the time, but give yourself a few hours at the pass line, don’t pass line or come bets to get a feel for the game. Then after a while, experiment out with place bets and go from there.
